Here at Cannon Hill Smiles, we do a number of things to help patients ease their concerns about dental costs in Brisbane and access the care they want and need as soon as possible.
We accept all major health funds
As a leading dentist in Cannon Hill, we are network providers for all major health funds.
We have on site HICAPS available, which allows you to claim your health fund rebate instantly after your appointment. Our team simply swipes your health fund card, your claim is processed within seconds and you only pay the gap amount. This means no upfront full fees and no waiting for reimbursements.
Preferred Providers
Cannon Hill Smiles are the only Bupa Members First Platinum and Medibank Private Members’ Choice Advantage provider in the area. We are also part of the HCF “More for Teeth” program. We are also preferred providers for CBHS and Teacher’s Union Health. We are a participating smile.com.au dentist as well as an NIB FIRST CHOICE Provider.
We also see patients under the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) dental programme and if you have a DVA gold card, your treatment is completely covered.
If you are with one of our partnered health funds, your out of pocket costs are kept as low as possible. As preferred providers, we follow an agreed fee schedule and meet strict quality standards, which means you receive higher rebates and better value compared with visiting a non network dentist.

Applications are done by our friendly reception team and can take less than 5 minutes. Free* Kids Dental under the Child Dental Benefit Scheme
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) helps families in Cannon Hill and across Brisbane access essential dental care for children aged 2 to 17. At Cannon Hill Smiles, eligible children can receive bulk billed services so parents can protect their child’s oral health with no out of pocket costs for eligible treatments.
The total benefit entitlement will be capped at $1,000 per child over a two calendar year period. The CDBS will have a means test, which requires receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A (FTB-A) or a relevant Australian Government payment.
The CDBS will provide individual benefits for a range of services including examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions. Benefits will not be available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work.
